MultiFaith
GROWs Featured Faith Gardens Many faith
organizations are committing to environmental stewardship in various
ways. Using some of their land for
gardens is one example of this emphasis.

Peace Gardens Defiance, OH Tim & Elizabeth Collardey hpg.org@gmail.com “… it's been a huge success, and I
believe that's due in large part because of the spirituality connected to the
garden. The garden is round and, with its paths, resembles a Native
American medicine wheel--very sacred. At our ground blessing weekend
last April, Indian elders conducted a sacred blessing ceremony and gave
teachings about planting traditions of the First Farmers of this part of the
world. Our garden primarily has heirloom crops and plants whose
ancestors originated here in the New World (corn, beans, squash, etc.)
Part of our mission is to teach this heritage to the community.” --Tim Collardey http://www.heirloompeacegardens.org/ |
